In line with the Veterinary Surgeons (Continuing Professional Development) (Amendment) Directive 1/2016, one criterion for the Annual Practising Certificate (APC) is a minimum of 50 CPD points (30 points for an RVS aged 60 and above). CPD points are collected within the fixed cycle of 1 October to 30 September. For APC 2027, points must be collected from 1 October 2025 until 30 September 2026 ONLY; points collected from 1 October 2026 count toward APC 2028. The Council (MVC) will conduct random audits of Registered Veterinary Surgeons to ensure integrity and CPD compliance. Every RVS must keep proof of participation such as attendance certificates for verification and audit. Practising without valid registration and a valid APC is an offence under Section 17 of the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1974. — Majlis Veterinar Malaysia.
APC 2027 applications open 30 October 2026 and close 31 December 2026. Late applications are subject to additional requirements under Act 147.
All APC renewals, CPD submissions and payments must be made through the MVC Digital Platform from the 2027 cycle onwards.
